Job summary

Cascades at Saint Anne in Seattle, WA, is seeking a PRN RN to join a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. The role offers flexible shifts, competitive hourly pay based on experience, and opportunities for on-the-job mentoring.

Responsibilities include med administration, documentation, infection control, EMR entries, and collaboration with residents and the care team. A current RN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active RN license.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language material.
• Clear verbal communication in English.
• Experience in long-term geriatric nursing preferred.
• Strong empathy with excellent communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments.
• Record time spent performing individual treatments in accordance with policy.
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologics.
• Notify physician of medication/treatment issues and adverse reactions.
• Keep medication cart and room neat, stocked, and compliant with policies.
• Ensure correct disposal of sharps.
• Enter information into EMR and other systems.
• Practice infection control, universal precautions, and safety policies.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properly
• Ensures the correct disposal of all sharps
• Key information into computer systems including EMR
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures
• React appropriately to emergency and disaster situations
• Other duties as necessary and assigned

What we're looking for:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, active license as an RN
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred
• Current CPR Certification
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement
• Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills
