Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Day Surgery Pre Op PRN role. You will provide perioperative care in pre- and post-operative phases and support Same Day Surgery Unit operations.

The ideal candidate is a BSN-preferred graduate with Texas RN licensure and at least 2 years of medical-surgical experience, with preference for PACU experience; required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse required.
• 2 years medical-surgical experience; preference for post anesthesia care experience.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) and certification required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) and certification required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support (PLS/PCLS) and certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective perioperative care in pre-operative and post-operative phases.
• Manage patients admitted to the Same Day Surgery Unit.
• Perform pre-operative assessments immediately prior to planned intervention.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care according to individual patient care needs.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

• You will be responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the perioperative patient in the pre-operative and post-operative phase.
• You will work towards and achieve goals set in the previous evaluation period and assume responsibility for the efficient management of patients admitted to the Same Day Surgery Unit.
• You will perform pre-operative, pre-procedure assessments of patients immediately prior to planned intervention.
• You will plan, coordinate, and provide, nursing care according to individual patient care needs.

What qualifications you will need:
