HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is seeking a Lactation Consultant (PRN) to promote breastfeeding and support families across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations. You will apply evidence-based practices to educate, counsel, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective feeding plans.

The role requires clear verbal and written communication, the ability to interpret instructions, and vigilance for safety, infection control, and equipment troubleshooting.

Competenze

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
• 1 years experience required.
• Education required for certification (Health Sciences).

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Lactation Consultant utilizes evidenced based knowledge to promote breastfeeding and to support breastfeeding families.The Lactation Consultant serves the following age groups on a regular basis: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, and Adults.

What you will do in this role:

• Communicate verbally in a face-to-face situation
• Communicate in written form
• Communicate and convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
• Inspect machinery, office equipment, and/or medical equipment
• Trouble-shoot medical equipment
• Solve problems requiring interpretation
• Utilize reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Temperature Changes: variations in temperature from hot to cold
• Wet: frequent contact with water or other liquid
• Noise: sufficient noise to cause distraction
• Hazards: conditions where there is danger to life, body and/or health
• Atmospheric Conditions: conditions that affect the skin or respiratory system.
• Exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens
• May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
• Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
• Exposed to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids and wastes
• Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards
• May be exposed to biohazardous
• Exposed to a variety of electro-mechanical hazards
• Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens
• Occasionally exposed to radiation hazards

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support required
