Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center, now part of Hartford HealthCare in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on our inpatient units.

The role supports graduate nurses through the Nurse Residency Program and offers comprehensive benefits. Shifts are 3pm–11:30pm, with every other weekend and holiday coverage, serving a Magnet-designated hospital with extensive patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Acute care experience highly preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition to the team.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates ability to provide individualized care considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and age-related factors.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to maximize performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
