Job summary

The Great Falls Pre-Release Center, a non-profit Community Corrections worksite with three campuses, houses adult felon residents in a structured transition program for re-entry.

We are seeking a Correctional Treatment Specialist to provide support, oversee participation, orient residents, set contracts, arrange referrals, mediate conflicts, supervise vocational and educational placements, and coordinate parole planning, housing, and follow-up as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology or related field.
• 3 years’ experience in general human services for adults; residential corrections preferred.
• Experience with ex-offenders is a plus.
• Ability to establish relationships with residents and agencies.
• Positive problem-solving approach and crisis management.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents with orientation and mediate phase progression.
• Develop contracts describing goals and time requirements.
• Meet weekly with residents and refer to social resources in the community.
• Mediate disputes and assist with vocational/educational plans.
• Monitor resident activities and manage passes and travel arrangements.
• Provide weekly program guidance and oversee budgeting practices.
• Oversee vocational and educational placements and monitor performance.
• Assist with parole planning and housing prior to leaving the center.
• Be prepared to cover Center functions during absences on weekends/after hours.
• Participate in screening of new referrals and support program policy development.
