Great Falls Pre-Release Services, Inc. is hiring a Registered Nurse to support medical screening and ongoing health care for residents in a corrections-focused setting.

You will assess health concerns, coordinate with external health providers, and educate staff on health risks. The role requires a nursing degree, 3+ years of direct patient care, and strong communication with multi-agency partners; you will work with diverse populations and support discharge planning as part of a large community

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Min. 3 years' direct patient care experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse populations.
• Effective written and verbal communication; organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in screening process of new residents who may have health-related issues to help determine medical suitability for admission.
• Assist staff in assessing resident health concerns and communicate with health care professionals.
• Coordinate with health care providers to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care plans; refer residents to resources.
• Provide health education programming to residents and staff on health and safety concerns (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, hepatitis, STDs, smoking).
• Direct and coordinate infection control programs; act as central point of contact for health issues related to infectious diseases.
• Prepare reports for Community Health Departments, Physicians, or DOC contacts related to emergency care or costs.
• Identify fraudulent use of medication and review resident medications for appropriateness; attend monthly staff meetings.
• Assist residents with discharge planning and ensure prescribed treatment is followed.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid trainer certification and ensure staff training annually.
• Perform additional duties as requested or assigned.
