Qualifications

  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and serve as a resource for nursing staff; assist clinical manager with staff meetings and development.
  • Monitor staffing schedules to ensure adequate nurse-patient ratios; review monthly schedules and communicate changes.
  • Facilitate shared decision-making to improve unit throughput and reduce length of stay.
  • Coordinate and deliver in-service programs to maintain staff competence.
  • Assist with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
  • Participate in policy development, procedures, and department standards.
  • Contribute to department process improvement and peer review.

Job Summary

In addition to the staff nurse role, the Clinical Coordinator assumes shift responsibilities, coordinates care delivery, and staff scheduling, evaluates patient care, and leads process improvement activities. The role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to problem‑solve system and unit‑based issues, provides input into performance appraisals, and participates in educational activities and unit and hospital initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a lead and resource person for nursing personnel and assist the clinical manager with staff meetings and development.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
  • One to two years of progressively responsible experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work, delegate, and facilitate processes.
  • Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria; internal candidates preferred.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
