Job summary

Beloit Health System Beloit Clinic Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatrics clinic. The position is a 1st shift, 8a-5p, 36 hours per week at Beloit Clinic Pediatrics.

The RN will assist providers, participate in procedures, manage medications, and ensure patient safety and education while following infection control and EMR workflows. CPR must be current within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• State of Wisconsin nursing licensure or compact license; Illinois license may be required.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Prior experience with electronic medical records and pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with procedures and provide nursing care.
• Navigate and use computer software applications effectively.
• Receive and handle calls; administer and maintain medications.
• Ensure supplies are on hand and patient safety is prioritized.
• Assess basic physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
• Provide patient and family education appropriately.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
• Participate in quality assurance, maintain accurate medical records.
• May draw blood, perform basic labs and EKGs.
• Assist with completing patient paperwork (FMLA, disability, etc.).

This Registered Nurse Clinic in Pediatrics will provide nursing care and perform procedures as necessary for patient care.

The Registered Nurse Clinic will:

• Assists provider with procedures and provides necessary nursing care and procedures as necessary
• Demonstrates the ability to navigate and perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software applications
• Receives and handles telephone calls to departmentAdministers and maintains current medications
• Consistently uses good judgment and professional communication in accommodating patients' needs
• Ensures appropriate and adequate supplies are on hand
• Appropriately assesses basic physical psychological and social needs of patients and their families
• Provides patient and family education appropriately
• Strictly adheres to infection control procedures including body substance isolation and bloodborne pathogen precautions
• Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting, and providing medications to patients
• Protect patients from various hazards, falls, diseases exposures, etc.
• Participates in quality assurance activities initiates and maintains accurate electronic and/or paper medical records
• May draw blood and perform simple laboratory procedures and EKGs
• Assists with completing patient paperwork including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
• State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
• State of Illinois nursing license.
• Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
• Prior experience working with electronic medical records and Pediatrics preferred.
