Job summary

Beloit Health System - Beloit Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Family Practice team. The RN will provide patient care, assist physicians with procedures, manage tests and medications, and educate patients and families in a busy clinic environment.

The position is 1st shift, 8am–5pm, 40 hours per week, with benefits eligible. Wisconsin licensure and CPR certification are required, along with EMR experience and strong infection-control practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• State of Wisconsin nursing license, compact license or temporary permit; Illinois license also required.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with procedures and provides nursing care.
• Navigates and uses computer software applications accurately.
• Receives and handles department telephone calls.
• Administers and maintains current medications.
• Educates patients and families appropriately.
• Ensures supplies are on hand and sufficient.

This Registered Nurse Clinic in Family Practice will provide nursing care and perform procedures as necessary for patient care. The Registered Nurse Clinic will:

• Assists provider with procedures and provides necessary nursing care and procedures as necessary
• Demonstrates the ability to navigate and perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software applications
• Receives and handles telephone calls to department
• Administers and maintains current medications
• Consistently uses good judgment and professional communication in accommodating patients' needs
• Ensures appropriate and adequate supplies are on hand
• Appropriately assesses basic physical psychological and social needs of patients and their families
• Provides patient and family education appropriately
• Strictly adheres to infection control procedures including body substance isolation and bloodborne pathogen precautions
• Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting, and providing medications to patients
• Protect patients from various hazards, falls, diseases exposures, etc.
• Participates in quality assurance activities initiates and maintains accurate electronic and/or paper medical records
• May draw blood and perform simple laboratory procedures and EKGs
• Assists with completing patient paperwork including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
• State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
• State of Illinois nursing license.
• Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
• Prior experience working with electronic medical records is preferred.
