Job summary

Beloit Health System at Beloit Clinic Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Pediatrics clinic. This on-site role offers the 1st shift from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week with benefits eligibility.

You will assist providers, manage medications, document records, and educate patients and families in a fast-paced pediatric setting. Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited nursing program, hold an AN/BSN/MSN as appropriate, and possess

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable.
• Wisconsin nursing licensure (including compact) required.
• Illinois nursing license required.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Prior EMR experience and pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with procedures and provide nursing care as needed.
• Navigate and use computer software applications accurately and efficiently.
• Receive and handle department calls.
• Administer and maintain current medications.
• Educate patients and families appropriately.
• Ensure supplies are on hand.
• Assess basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and families.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and safety policies.
• Maintain accurate electronic and/or paper medical records.
• May draw blood and perform simple laboratory procedures and EKGs.
• Assist with completing patient paperwork (FMLA, disability documents).

This Registered Nurse Clinic in Pediatrics will provide nursing care and perform procedures as necessary for patient care.

• - Assists provider with procedures and provides necessary nursing care and procedures as necessary
• - Demonstrates the ability to navigate and perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software applications
• - Receives and handles telephone calls to department
• - Administers and maintains current medications
• - Consistently uses good judgment and professional communication in accommodating patients' needs
• - Ensures appropriate and adequate supplies are on hand
• - Appropriately assesses basic physical psychological and social needs of patients and their families
• - Provides patient and family education appropriately
• - Strictly adheres to infection control procedures including body substance isolation and bloodborne pathogen precautions
• - Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting, and providing medications to patients
• - Protect patients from various hazards, falls, diseases exposures, etc.
• - Participates in quality assurance activities initiates and maintains accurate electronic and/or paper medical records
• - May draw blood and perform simple laboratory procedures and EKGs
• - Assists with completing patient paperwork including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, etc.

Job Requirements:

• - Graduate of accredited school of nursing
• - ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
• - State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
• - State of Illinois nursing license.
• - Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
• - Prior experience working with electronic medical records and Pediatrics preferred.
