Job summary

Ascension Healthcare seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Saint Thomas Medical Partners Nashville Primary Care team. This full-time, dayshift role focuses on patient-centered care, accurate records, and coordinating the care journey for a diverse patient population in a busy clinic.

You will help ensure timely appointments, assist with pre-authorizations and billing inquiries, and support a welcoming office environment that reflects Ascension’s commitment to service and healing.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or transfer date.
• RN credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current compact-state license recognition prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, professional patient welcome and accurate record maintenance.
• Navigate the care journey by managing schedules, appointments, and medical record requests.
• Assist patients with insurance authorizations, precertifications, and understanding co-pays and billing questions.
• Submit daily service charges, reconcile deposits, and support office clerical workflows.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Champion the Patient Experience: Provide a warm, professional welcome for every visitor, guiding them through the check-in/out process and ensuring their records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Navigate the Care Journey: Proactively manage schedules, confirm appointments, and handle medical record requests to keep our clinical team and patients perfectly in sync.
• Provide Financial Clarity: Assist patients by verifying insurance authorizations and precertifications ahead of time, then help them navigate co-payments and billing questions with transparency and empathy.
• Ensure Accuracy & Flow: Maintain the heartbeat of the office by submitting daily service charges, reconciling deposits, and providing the essential clerical support that keeps our environment organized and welcoming.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
