Job Summary And Qualifications
Our team of expert Cath Lab clinicians are experienced and highly trained to diagnose cardiac conditions as well as perform coronary and peripheral interventions. The Cardiac Cath Lab is available to patients 24/7. This service offers the most advanced technology. Our staff is extensively trained in all areas of cardiac diseases. Here is what you can expect as a Cardiovascular Specialist – Cath Lab Clinical Nurse Coordinator:
- You will be responsible for routine care and maintenance of radiological equipment, ensuring quality patient care, maintaining cath lab competencies, and assisting in invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.
- You will explain procedures to patients to help alleviate anxiety.
- You will work within a team environment, willing to assume “on call” duties and respond within 30 minutes for emergencies.
- You will handle emergency situations during high-risk procedures with discretion and confidentiality.
- You will interact with physicians during procedures, emergencies, and assist with data interpretation and recording.
- You will provide primary patient care, administer medications per orders, and manage pre- and post-procedure processes, including recovery, outpatient instructions, and discharge information.
What are the needed qualifications of a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse?
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- Current Colorado RN License with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- 2-3 years of experience in Critical Care, ED, PACU, or Radiology preferred
- Proficiency in cardiology nursing procedures and skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation preferred
- Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and rhythm interpretation preferred
