Registered Nurse, RN SUMMARY

• Utilize the nursing process in resident care, administer medications & treatments, and document appropriately
• Report findings of assessments to the Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, or Unit Manager
• Demonstrate knowledge of test/lab values, deliver direct resident care, and adhere to policies and Resident Bill of Rights
• Identify and respond timely to patient concerns/needs
• Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to ensure quality patient care
• Prepare resident assignments based on needs and staff competency, monitor activity flow, and ensure proper documentation
• Be punctual and provide proper notification for lateness or absenteeism

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing
• Licensed & registered in good standing in New York State as an RN
• Experience with geriatric patients is desirable but not required
• Sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, & disabled
• Cooperative spirit and enthusiasm for rehabilitation & growth
• Knowledge of medical, social, & psychological needs of residents, nursing theory & practice, infection prevention
• Excellent verbal communication skills with residents, families, & staff
