Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Michigan RN licensure required.
• Current BLS/CPR provider — required.
• ACLS preferred; must obtain ACLS within 60 days of hire or unit placement.
• Level 4/5 RN: ACLS preferred; obtain within 1 year of hire.
• PALS preferred for certain units; ACLS within 3 months after hire.
• ED/PALS: ACLS within 3 months; re-cert every 2 years.
• IC/IR RN: ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition across physical, psychological, cognitive, social, rehabilitative, and discharge needs.
• Develop care plan using nursing diagnoses and patient outcome goals.
• Implement nursing care and physician orders.
• Set priorities based on patient needs and resources.
• Perform nursing procedures and support physicians.
• Evaluate patient response and adjust care plan accordingly.
• Educate patient and family based on outcomes.
• Document timely, accurate information in the care record.
• Respect patient and family rights and ensure confidentiality.
• Follow safety standards and manage emergencies efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge base and standards of care; pursue ongoing education.
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, attendance and scheduling.
• Engage in self-directed learning and staff development initiatives.
• Participate in quality assurance, standards development and research.
• Coordinate care and delegate appropriately; review staff performance.
• Assist in unit supervision in absence of Clinical Director or Coordinator.
