Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care across specialty and procedural service lines requiring advanced clinical competencies. Responsibilities include assessments, treatments, medication administration, and assisting with procedures, while coordinating care with providers and external partners.

The position requires valid Michigan RN license, BLS/CPR, and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred as education credential.
• Current State of Michigan license (unrestricted) as an RN is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) required.
• Oncology/Infusion specific certifications may be required (ONS/ONCC) prior to chemotherapy administration.
• ACLS and CV-BC within 1 year of hire; wound certifications within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts telephone triage according to established clinical protocols.
• Maintains an active nursing appointment schedule for providers.
• Identifies patient care requirements by completing the nursing process.
• Provides patient education and anticipatory guidance under provider direction.
• Administers medication and treatments per clinical protocols.
• Documents concise, accurate patient care information in the chart.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and infection control standards.
• Responds effectively in emergency patient situations.
• Collaborates with care team to ensure coordinated care.
• Demonstrates professional development and adherence to legal requirements.
