Job summary

Rest-Haven Health and Rehab is seeking a nurse administrator to oversee direct nursing care for residents and supervise licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants. The role focuses on coordinating shift duties, ensuring adherence to policies, and collaborating with other departments to follow individualized care plans.

You will participate in quality assurance activities, handle regulatory communications, and help manage resident discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Experience organizing and scheduling tasks to balance workload among nursing staff.
• Ability to review and revise department policies and job descriptions.
• Knowledge of implementing established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize and assign tasks on tour of duty to evenly distribute workload based on staff qualifications, facility size and layout.
• Periodically review department policies, procedures and job descriptions and recommend revisions.
• Implement established policies and procedures.
• Ensure all nursing personnel comply with written policies and procedures.
• Meet with nursing staff and support personnel to plan services, programs and activities for your shift.
• Cooperate with other resident services to ensure resident care plans are followed.
• Participate in development and maintenance of the facility’s quality assurance program.
• Request conferences with the Director of Nursing as needed to discuss resident, personnel and facility matters.
• Participate in facility surveys by authorized regulatory agencies as requested.
• Periodically review the resident’s discharge plan and participate in updates.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required.
• Place and receive calls to and from physicians.
