Job summary

Rutherford Regional Health System in North Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Cardiac Rehabilitation. You will collaborate with nurses and exercise physiologists to support patients recovering from cardiac or pulmonary events, monitor telemetry, perform assessments, and educate patients on recovery and wellness.

This role requires an NC RN license (or multi-state license), an Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), and 1–3 years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi‑state compact license).
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years preferred; recent acute care experience within past 3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cares for patients recovering from cardiac or pulmonary events in collaboration with nurses and exercise physiologists.
• Assists with patient workflow: telemetry monitoring, vital signs, assessments, and education.
• Supports development of individualized exercise prescriptions and equipment setup and monitoring.
• Performs ongoing physical, psychosocial, and educational assessments; communicates patient condition to care team and families.

Our CardioPulmonary Rehabilitation team works collaboratively to support patients recovering from cardiac and pulmonary events. You'll partner closely with nurses and exercise physiologists in a supportive, team‑oriented environment focused on patient recovery, education, and long‑term wellness. How you'll contribute

• Works collaboratively with nurses and exercise physiologists to care for patients recovering from cardiac or pulmonary events.
• Assists with patient workflow, including cardiac telemetry monitoring, vital signs, patient assessments, and patient education.
• Supports development and maintenance of individualized exercise prescriptions and assists with exercise equipment setup and monitoring.
• Performs ongoing assessments including physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, and families as appropriate.
• Documents patient care and interventions accurately.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment to ensure a safe patient environment.
• Maintains logs and documentation as required.
• Collaborates across disciplines to support coordinated patient care and recovery goals.
• Participates in professional development opportunities and attends required in‑services.
• Assists with orientation and training of team members as needed.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi‑state (compact) license).

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1-3 years preferred and recent acute care experience within past 3 years preferred.

• Experience in cardiac, pulmonary, or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• ACLS

Schedule: 32 hours weekly. Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No weekends.
