Job summary
Mercy Hospital St. Louis Labor & Birth is seeking an experienced RN to transition into a high-acuity Labor & Birth specialty.
This full-time night role offers comprehensive training and a structured onboarding program to develop advanced obstetric nursing skills. Join a large, collaborative team at Missouri's leading birthing center, with specialization in fetal monitoring, rapid response, and family-centered care.
Qualifications
- RN licensure in the state of Missouri (or eligibility)
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- Certification in ACLS, NRP, STABLE, C-EFM, PALS or comparable
- Willingness to obtain additional unit-specific certifications as required
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
- Assess and respond to maternal and fetal conditions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate and support patients and families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
- Utilize fetal monitoring and related data to guide care decisions
- Participate in bedside handoffs and patient safety initiatives
- Contribute to quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Maintain professional growth through continuing education and certification

- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN License or eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Previous RN experience in an acute care or applicable clinical setting

- Other unit-specific certifications as required
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts
- Reach, bend, kneel, squat, twist, and perform direct patient care activities
