Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Rotating every other weekend

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description:

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Inpatient Rehab department is a 36-bed unit specializing in the rehabilitation of trauma and stroke patients. Our nurses have an average patient ratio of 5:1, supported by a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, Registered Nurses, Patient Care Techs, and Rehab Techs. We care for patients throughout their stay (typically 5-10 days), witnessing remarkable healing as a result of our work. Join our team!

Responsibilities:

1. Provide direct nursing care according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
2. Implement and monitor patient care plans.
3. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions appropriately.
4. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
5. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
6. Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with healthcare team members.

Minimum Education/Experience:

• Diploma from an accredited nursing school or required professional licensure at hire.

Certifications/Licenses:

• Registered Nurse credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing prior to hire.
