Job summary

Kindred Hospital Central Tampa, a 102-bed long-term acute care facility in North Central Tampa, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.

The role involves developing nursing care plans, coordinating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff, and participating in discharge planning to ensure safe transitions. Strong communication and adherence to standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have RN license in state of practice and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Six months of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing care standards and follow hospital policies.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing care for patients.
• Delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Document admissions, care plans, and assessments in medical records.
• Assess and reassess pain; educate patients on pain management.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and team.
• Participate in discharge planning and interdepartmental coordination.
• Administer medications following the five rights to minimize errors.
• Provide end-of-shift reports and ensure narcotics accountability.
• Support patient and family education and psychosocial needs.
• Assist with orientation and training of new personnel.
