Weekender must work every Fri, Sat, Sun. Increase hourly pay for WOW position. Coordinates and delivers patient care using the health care team philosophy practice model. Coordinates and does patient teaching and discharge planning. Coordinates activities with ancillary departments. Maintains standards of department and the hospital. Reports to Nurse Manager or designee.
Responsibilities

- Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to ensure a positive patient care experience.
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments relevant to the scope of the role.
- Adheres to infection-control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Ensures compliance with organizational policies, practices, protocols, and professional standards.
- Handles confidential patient information per policies.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service aligned with the organization’s values.
- Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies, and legal requirements.
- Provides nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing patient care activities.
- Implements patient care plans and medical orders accurately.
- Administers medications and IV solutions correctly.
- Maintains accurate documentation and reporting.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment.
- Participates in safety, quality improvement, and policy review initiatives.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Displays concern, initiative, and professionalism.
- Works effectively in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
- Performs physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, repositioning patients, and reaching as needed.
- Wears personal protective equipment and follows safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of RN experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Ability to recognize patient needs based on age and condition, with good judgment and communication skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Willingness to rotate shifts, work overtime if necessary, and work in various areas.
- Valid Mississippi State RN license.
