Position details: Weekender must work every Fri, Sat, Sun. Increased hourly pay for WOW position. Coordinates and delivers patient care using the healthcare team philosophy practice model. Responsible for patient teaching, discharge planning, and coordinating activities with ancillary departments. Maintains departmental and hospital standards. Reports to Nurse Manager or designee.
Responsibilities

- Maintain a clean and quiet patient environment to ensure a positive care experience.
- Stay current with standards of practice, trends, and developments relevant to the role.
- Follow infection-control policies, medication procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, practices, protocols, and professional standards.
- Handle confidential patient information in accordance with policies.
- Deliver excellent customer service aligned with the organization's Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and legal requirements.
Essential Functions
- Plan, organize, and direct nursing care for patients.
- Implement patient care plans and nursing assignments suitable to staff skill levels.
- Maintain standards of patient care and accurate documentation.
- Manage supplies and participate in safety and performance improvement initiatives.
- Support infection-control policies and handle emergencies calmly.
- Participate in orientation, training, and policy review.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate effectively with staff and departments.
Functional Demands
- Prolonged standing, walking, or sitting.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Patient repositioning and care functions requiring reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Visual, auditory, and manual dexterity for duties and equipment handling.
- Ability to work effectively under stress and in a fast-paced environment.
- Pass health and screening tests.
- Exposure to hazardous agents, infectious diseases, and unpleasant sights or odors; use of PPE required.
Qualifications
- One year RN experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Ability to recognize patient needs, make judgments, communicate effectively, and perform in stressful situations. Current CPR certification.
- Willingness to rotate shifts, work overtime if needed.
- Current Mississippi State RN license.
