Job summary

The Duke Raleigh Campus of Duke University Health System in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an experienced registered nurse for our Medical/Surgical Stepdown Unit. You will provide professional nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

We offer competitive compensation with a $15,000 commitment bonus for experienced RNs, relocation assistance up to $8,000, and up to $25,000 in student loan forgiveness; relocation eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited BSN program.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical nursing experience required or New Graduates considered.
• Must have current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
• Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material resources.
• Participate in own professional development and seek appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
• Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and learners.
• Participate in performance improvement opportunities and activities.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
