Job summary

Grafton Integrated Health Network in Winchester, VA, is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to clients with complex needs. The role combines medication administration, clinical assessment, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

This full-time, on-site position offers a $38.46–$51.39 hourly rate, flexible scheduling including weekends, and a benefits package with medical, dental, vision and life coverage.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid RN license from the State Board of Nursing.
  • One to two years of experience providing nursing services, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of practical nursing techniques.
  • Computer proficiency and strong communication skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients and other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manages health issues and provides nursing care to clients, observing and monitoring client health; documents treatments and/or medical concerns in client charts.
  • Administers medications, including obtaining prescribed medications from a pharmacist, administering medications to clients, providing medication information, obtaining medications for home administration, monitoring medication changes, and observing client reactions.
  • Attends to clients who present as sick (sick call) or injured.
  • Assists with psychological reviews, schedules client appointments with healthcare providers and dentists, and attends neurology/specialty appointments as appropriate.
  • Contacts parents or legal guardians to discuss client medical issues, status of health conditions, and treatments received.
  • Works on‑call duty in rotation as appropriate and promptly responds to calls for immediate nursing services.
  • Provides hepatitis B or flu vaccines and PPD testing to Grafton staff.
  • Conducts in‑service staff training related to nursing and health issues and teaches medication administration practices.
  • Promotes and assists in controlling communicable disease.
  • Provides the medical perspective to client care in all multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Participates in various facility‑wide meetings and committees as needed; serves as backup for nurses in other Grafton locations when required.
  • Prepares and/or completes a variety of health services forms such as medication permission forms, on‑call sheets, medical/dentist appointment sheets, etc.
