Job summary

Bayside Health in Melbourne is seeking an experienced clinical nurse to join the neurology care team at Alfred Hospital. You will care for stroke patients and those with epilepsy, MND and Parkinson's, supporting endovascular clot retrieval and video EEG monitoring, within a fully integrated service.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, advancing neuroscience nursing expertise and contributing to education and training across the ward.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
• Interest in Neuroscience nursing
• Current and satisfactory Police Check
• Current and satisfactory Working With Children Check

Responsibilities

• Care for patients after stroke and neurological conditions.
• Support Endovascular Clot Retrieval (ECR) and Video EEG Monitoring (VEM) patients.

About The Role And The Ward

2F and 7W VEM provide specialist care for patients who have experienced a stroke or are living with a range of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, MND and Parkinson's disease.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to care for patients following Endovascular Clot Retrieval (ECR), support individuals admitted for Video EEG Monitoring (VEM), and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care for a diverse neurological patient population.

As nurse you are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient’s plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team. You are supported in your role as a clinical nurse by all other nursing positions.
