Job summary

Bayside Health is inviting applications for casual Instrument Technicians to support the Central Sterilising Service across Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals. You will handle the full processing cycle from decontamination to issuing sterile instruments, working in a 24/7 roster with a focus on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates will have a Certificate III in Sterilisation, strong English communication, and reliable, flexible availability.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills including fluent English (written & spoken).
• Flexibility to work a 24/7 rostering pattern in a hospital environment.
• Minimum of Certificate III in Sterilisation.

Responsibilities

• Process (decontamination to issuing) sterile instruments and equipment.
• Support across Alfred and Sandringham Hospital operating suites and wards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control.

About Us

The Sterilising Service Department (CSS) is an integral part of Alfred Health, providing a service to The Main Alfred Hospital Operating Suite, The Alfred Centre Procedural Suite, Sandringham Hospital Operating Suite and also to the wards and other departments.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for casual positions in the Instrument Technician role at The Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals. Instrument Technicians work across a 24/7 roster and are responsible for the processing (from decontamination to the issuing of sterile instruments and equipment used in all areas of the hospital).

About You

• Prior experience in SSD is preferred.

• Good communication skills including fluent English written & oral skills (essential).
• The ability to learn new processes and tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in your previous employment.
• Minimum of Certificate III in Sterilisation
