Job summary

Bayside Health's Neurosciences unit, based at The Alfred, seeks a Grade 1 Scientist to conduct clinical testing for inpatients and outpatients. The role involves administrative and analytical duties with opportunities to grow in EEG programs and clinical research.

The successful candidate will hold a science degree and be eligible for ANSA registration, contributing to a high-quality neurophysiology service within a major public health network.

Qualifications

The Department

The Neurosciences unit is a clinical diagnostic unit supporting the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. The unit provides a comprehensive neurophysiology service including routine EEG, long- term inpatient video EEG monitoring (VEM), nerve conductions studies, somatosensory evoked potentials, visual evoked potentials and continuous ICU EEG monitoring. The Neurophysiology unit is actively involved with the Neurosurgery Department, providing comprehensive support in the stereo EEG program and intraoperative neuromonitoring service. These include intraoperative SEEG implant, monitoring, cortical stimulation and radio frequency thermocoagulation.

The Role

The Grade 1 Scientist will be an essential member of the Neurophysiology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical testing of outpatients and inpatients at the Alfred. The position includes carrying administrative and clinical analytical duties as well as opportunity to be upskilled in the advanced EEG program and participate in clinical research. In addition, the scientist should perform all duties of the position to the best of their ability

Experience And Qualifications Required

• Bachelor of Science or Applied Science
• Clinical experience in a health and/or Neurophysiology field
• Willingness to further gain experience in all aspects of Neurophysiology
• Eligibility for registration with Association of Neurophysiology Scientist (ANSA)
