Job summary

Shaker Gardens is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated care team in Shaker Heights. You will provide direct nursing care to residents, administer medications, and supervise STNAs to ensure high-quality care.

As part of the team, you will develop care plans in collaboration with physicians and other professionals, perform daily rounds, and monitor resident well-being. Strong English communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in Ohio.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate nursing care to residents.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and related laws for facilities.
• Leadership and supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents, including medications and wound care.
• Supervise and direct STNAs to ensure high-quality care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with the care team.
• Perform daily rounds to ensure quality of care and identify improvement areas.
• Administer treatments and therapies as ordered by physicians.
• Monitor residents and report changes to the Nurse Supervisor or Unit Manager.
• Maintain accurate resident records and progress notes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives for resident care.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, treating wounds, and performing various medical procedures.

• Supervise and direct the activities of assigned STNAs, ensuring that they provide high-quality care to residents.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

• Conduct daily rounds to ensure that residents are receiving high-quality care and to identify any areas for improvement.

• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered by physicians.

• Monitor resident conditions and report changes or concerns to the Nurse Supervisor and/or Unit Manager.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve the overall quality of care provided to residents.

• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that care is coordinated and resident needs are met.

Requirements:

• Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

• Supporting team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
