Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Pensacola seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care per the plan of care, with a flexible PRN hourly schedule.

You will assess, plan and intervene, observe changes, administer treatments, teach self-care, and coordinate with the care team while maintaining confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Travel locally with your own vehicle is required, and you will participate in supervisory visits and documentation to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure.
• Licensed RN in the state of practice.
• Must travel locally in your own vehicle with valid driver's license and insurance.
• Maintain CPR certification and pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and intervene using the nursing process to meet patient needs.
• Observe and report changes in condition; document in the clinical record.
• Administer treatments and medications per plan of care and state law.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Coordinate with Case Manager, physicians, and families of changes in patient condition.
• Perform supervisory visits and evaluate competency of staff as required.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulations and policies.

Overview

Hours: PRN and Hourly – This position includes PRN visits for supervisory visits, skilled nursing, and some hourly patient care.

As an Addus Registered Nurse, you will:

• Assess, plan and intervene using the nursing process to meet the patient’s health care needs.
• Observe and report any signs or symptoms indicative of changes in condition of the patient and family situation. Document such reports and observations in the clinical record and notify supervisor.
• Perform assigned nursing procedures, including the administration of treatments and medications in the care of the patient, in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and the plan of care.
• Teach the patients/caregivers appropriate self-care techniques.
• Notify the Case Manager, physicians, and families of changes in the patient’s condition.
• Perform LPN and Home Health Aide supervisory visits, in accordance with state regulations, to evaluate competency and provide appropriate instructions.
• Maintain data collection, recording, and reporting systems to ensure proper service, uniform accounting, data collection, and measurement of outcomes.
• Communicate potential risk management issues and report abuse or unsafe/illegal practice as required by law.
• Work with patient, family and health care team members effectively to coordinate patient care in reference to the Plan of Care as directed by the Director of Nursing
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information.
• Maintain regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the agency.
• Follow all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
• Abide by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure.
• Licensed as a RN in the state of practice
• Must be able to travel locally in your own vehicle, and possess a valid driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance coverage.
• Maintain current CPR certification
• Level II Background check through the Agency for Healthcare Admininistration
