Job summary

Surry Health Center by Harborview in Mount Airy, NC is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate nursing care to residents. You will supervise CNAs under Nursing Director oversight, participate in wellness rounds, and ensure timely assessments and documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the IDT, adherence to clinical standards, and ongoing professional development. A valid RN license in good standing is required; experience in skilled nursing or long-term care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing in the state of practice.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is preferred but not required—we'll invest in the right heart and mindset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support CNAs under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Ensure baseline and periodic assessments are completed on time.
• Prepare for physician rounds by flagging concerns and documenting for review.
• Initiate consults or referrals as appropriate based on resident needs.
• Complete administrative tasks including medical documentation, evaluations, and reports.
• Deliver nursing care within scope of practice and policy.
• Monitor residents for changes and notify providers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse

What You Will Do

• Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) under the direction of the Director of Nursing

• Prepare for and facilitate physician rounds by flagging concerns and preparing documentation for review

• Initiate consultations or referrals as appropriate based on resident needs

• Perform administrative tasks including medical documentation, evaluations, and reports

• Deliver nursing care within scope of practice and aligned with facility policy and clinical standards

• Monitor residents for changes in condition (e.g., confusion, fever, breathing difficulty, pain, appetite changes, mobility loss) and notify providers as needed

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
