Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Surgical Services, Peri-Anesthesia (Pre-Op/PACU) in Lewiston, ME. The role is part-time, 2 days per week, with 10-hour shifts, delivering safe, patient-centered peri-operative care and collaborating with the surgical team.

Eligible candidates receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The position requires an active RN license, BLS, and prior acute care experience; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect peri-operative care in Pre-Op and PACU settings
• Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and post-anesthesia recovery monitoring
• Monitor airway, hemodynamic status, pain control, and level of consciousness
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate patient care and direct OR Technicians and support staff
• Ensure safe patient flow across the peri-operative continuum
• Maintain compliance with AORN, Joint Commission, and hospital standards
• Participate in performance improvement, unit meetings, and education
• Serve as a clinical resource to staff and team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, patient-centered peri-operative care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) for patients across the lifespan. Provides direct and indirect care in Pre-Op and PACU settings.

Pay Transparency

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $49.16 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
