Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing and current WI Nursing License required.
  • Must have valid unrestricted RN licensure from Wisconsin DSPS.

Brewster Village is looking for dedicated and compassionate caregivers who want to work in a team-based environment, where Person Directed Living is our top priority.

Reporting to the Neighborhood Coordinator/Nurse Specialist, the Wellness Nurse - RN functions as an integral member of the household wellness team. They plan and support person-directed living according to physician orders, nursing orders, care plans, and villager choice. Their focus is both on the medical and social needs of each villager, maximizing quality of life.

Compensation is based on experience: A Registered Nurse with 11-20 years of experience will earn $32.81 hourly base pay. A $3.00 shift differential is paid for our PM Shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm). In addition, weekend hours earn an extra $2.00 shift differential. Brewster Village has a temporary staffing bonus of $2.00/hour for all hours worked, which may end at any time.

The following duties are critical for this position, but not all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Provides person-directed care through planning, administering, and reviewing villager care via care plans, physician orders, nursing orders, and villager choice.
  2. Assesses villager's medical and social needs, organizes notes, gathers documents, and assists MD during acute care rounds.
  3. Reports and documents changes in condition according to policy.
  4. Reports infections to Infection Control/Skin Care Coordinator and sets up precautions as needed.
  5. Supervises, directs, and evaluates the performance of Nursing Assistants as delegated by the Neighborhood Coordinator and Nurse Specialist.
  6. Educates team members on policies and procedures.
  7. Attends meetings and care conferences, including household council meetings, community circles, and huddles.
  8. Participates in Quality Improvement initiatives, performs audits, and ensures team competency.
  9. Provides leadership and serves as a role model to promote person-directed living.
  10. Maintains a safe environment by assessing hazards, implementing safety practices, and reporting incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Nursing.
  • Current WI Nursing License.
  • Valid unrestricted RN licensure from Wisconsin DSPS.
  • Current certification in adult CPR.
