Job summary

CHC Addiction Services in Akron, OH is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our primary care team. You will provide high‑quality nursing care, conduct assessments, administer medications, and educate patients to support health and wellness.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a primary care setting.

CHC is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio’s efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our primary care team in Akron, OH. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care, support patient health and wellness, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a primary care setting.
• Conduct patient assessments, record medical histories, and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures as needed.
• Ensure a safe and clean clinical environment following infection control protocols.
• Provide Clinical Supervision to Patient Care Liaison.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
• Experience in primary care nursing preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
