Virginia Mason Hematology and Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant Registered in our ambulatory clinic. The Medical Assistant Registered is responsible for assisting the medical and nursing staff by performing clerical and clinical support tasks as directed. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules for patients and providers, patient flow, rooming, and taking medical histories. Our Medical Assistants contribute to our Team Medicine approach, benefiting from Virginia Mason Production System initiatives that enhance patient safety, reduce errors, and promote continuous innovation.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 6 months experience in a medical office/clinic or graduation from an accredited Medical Administrative Assistant, Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program
• Ability to obtain Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason within 60 days of hire
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Professional demeanor, positive attitude, strong communication skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and work independently
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, leaders, patients, and physicians

Preferred: Associates degree or equivalent.
