Job summary

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking a Registered Funds Content Lawyer to develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy on innovative registered funds products and regulatory developments. You will produce client alerts, long-form articles, and market commentary for asset management firms and institutional investors.

The role reports to the Director of Practice Management, Registered Funds, and requires at least 5 years of experience in investment management or securities regulation

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment management, securities regulation, or a closely related practice area.
• Demonstrated expertise in the Investment Company Act of 1940, SEC regulations, and fund structuring/operation.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with publication-ready output on complex topics.
• Strong analytical and research abilities to synthesize regulatory developments into commentary.
• Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all published work.
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills with attorneys and leadership.
• Familiarity with CMS and digital publishing platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a forward-looking editorial calendar and content pipeline for registered funds topics.
• Draft, edit, and publish client alerts, long-form articles, white papers, and market commentary.
• Translate complex legal concepts into clear, commercially oriented prose for sophisticated readers.
• Maintain rigorous editorial standards and firm voice across publications.
• Coordinate with attorneys and leadership to align content with strategic goals.
• Track regulatory developments and distill takeaways into actionable content.
• Support business development with content for pitches and client materials.
• Collaborate with marketing and design teams to optimize content distribution.
