Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or a related patient care field required.
Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) is necessary.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or Red Cross is mandatory.
One year of recent experience in epilepsy long-term monitoring is preferred.
Knowledge of EEG testing and instrumentation is essential.
Competency in long-term epilepsy monitoring techniques is required.
Responsibilities
Monitor electrophysiological data on patients using audio/visual equipment.
Perform long-term EEG monitoring for adult and pediatric patients.
Assist physicians in reading and interpreting EEG and clinical seizures.
Maintain daily logs of patient status and report information to coworkers.
Compile and forward billing information to the work leader.
Prepare for recording and care for patients with invasive electrodes.
