Job summary

St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York seeks a Registered Dietitian (RD) to manage nutrition for short term, long term, palliative care and feeding tube residents in a 189-bed facility.

The RD will conduct nutrition assessments, provide counseling, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, implement the Nutrition Care Process, and organize patient care with minimal supervision. Weekend and holiday rotations are required.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential or eligibility required.
• Comfortable with enteral nutrition.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with state survey process and nutrition regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents' nutritional needs with clinical assessments.
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to residents and families.

St. James Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join their dynamic team. This 189-bed facility is looking for a hard working and energizedRegistered Dietitian (RD) to help manage the nutrition needs of their short term, long term, Palliative Care and feeding tube residents while proudly serving their diverse community health-care needs.

Registered Dietitian (RD)Reporting to the Director of Clinical Nutrition the successful candidate will:

• Assess the nutritional needs of residents by completing the necessary clinical nutritional assessments
• Providing nutrition counseling and education for residents and family
• Working with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal care is provided to all residents
• Be knowledgeable of the Nutrition Care Process
• Possess the ability to creatively problem solve and work independently with minimal supervision
• Efficiently and effectively organize clinical nutrition and patient care responsibilities
• Rotating holidays and weekend work required
