Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB) is Lifelong’s food and nutrition program, providing medically tailored meals, culturally relevant groceries, and nutritional counseling & education to community members facing illness and injustice. The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) will support CSB clients through individualized nutrition counseling/Medical Nutrition Therapy. They will also provide practical skill-building experiences to clients via cooking demonstrations, grocery store tours, and group classes to increase self-efficacy around eating a healthy diet. The RDN will support the Medically Tailored Meal program through meal nutrient analysis, ensuring that meals meet meal nutrition standards. The Registered Dietitian will support Lifelong meal and grocery programs by assisting with the development of nutrition policies that guides the work and direction of the program. This regular, full-time, non-exempt, union role is based in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, with onsite presence required at least three days per week (Tuesday – Thursday).
All positions that involve in person work with clients are required to undergo a TB test within 30 days of starting employment and annually, or as required by program. Any offer of employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background check. Some programs may require additional background checks or frequency. Depending on organizational needs, work may be performed in office, kitchen, or warehouse settings and may at times involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions or loud noises. This position requires regular work at a desk and on a computer, combined with frequent interaction with clients both on-site and in the community. The role may involve travel to client homes, partner agencies, or community locations, which can include exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds to transport materials or supplies. Work may occur in office, residential, or community settings, and may occasionally involve outdoor conditions or environments with moderate noise.
