Position Overview
Temporary Delivery Driver for Lifelong’s Chicken Soup Brigade, a food and nutrition program that delivers medically tailored meals and culturally relevant groceries to community members facing illness and injustice. The role requires safe, reliable delivery of groceries and meals to clients throughout the Puget Sound region, with onsite presence Monday to Friday from 08:30AM to 5PM in Georgetown.
Essential Duties
- Distribution:
- Operate agency vehicles to deliver groceries and medically tailored meals to clients across Puget Sound, including multiple counties.
- Provide respectful, compassionate customer service to clients with health challenges or other barriers.
- Load, transport, and deliver items safely, preventing damage and spoilage.
- Plan and navigate efficient delivery routes using GPS and routing tools, considering traffic, construction, and client scheduling.
- Follow all traffic laws, posted signs, and safety protocols.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and operating conditions.
- Adapt and prioritize time and resources to meet daily deliverables in a dynamic, growing program.
- Warehouse:
- Repack bulk shelf‑stable food items for distribution.
- Assemble grocery bags with fresh produce and perishable goods.
- Prepare frozen meals for delivery.
- Receive inbound freight deliveries and store them while maintaining food safety guidelines.
- Support general warehouse operations and complete additional tasks as assigned.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License with an excellent record.
- Preferred: Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
- Preferred: Competence working with clients with psychiatric disabilities, chemical dependency, or life‑challenging illness.

Work Environment
