Job summary

Hospice of Greater Arizona is seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to provide specialized clinical nutrition care to hospice patients. You will assess nutritional needs, develop care plans, and support families with evidence-based dietary interventions.

Work in a multidisciplinary team across inpatient and outpatient services, with EMR documentation and nutrition counseling to improve symptom management, quality of life, and overall comfort.

• Supervise and mentor dietetic interns or junior staff members while ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) for documentation, progress notes, and care plan updates efficiently and accurately.
• Assist with specialized nutritional support procedures like tube feeding management and diagnostic evaluations when necessary.
• Monitor patient progress through weight management programs, dietary adjustments, and ongoing assessments to ensure optimal recovery or health maintenance.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to review care plans, update treatment strategies, and ensure comprehensive patient support.

Experience

• Proven experience working in clinical nutrition settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, or outpatient clinics.
• Demonstrated knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and overall human health.
• Hands-on experience with medical nutrition therapy (MNT), especially for patients with specific dietary needs or complex health conditions.
• Supervising experience in a healthcare environment is preferred, including overseeing dietetic staff or interns.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management is essential.
• Strong background in chronic disease management, weight loss programs, geriatrics, and acute care scenarios.
• Excellent client communication skills with the ability to motivate behavioral change through techniques like motivational interviewing.
• Experience working with individuals requiring specialized nutrition support such as tube feeding or dietary modifications for medical conditions.
• Knowledge of dietary department operations within hospital or healthcare settings is advantageous.
