Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical nutrition, patient assessment, and medical nutrition therapy, with a passion for improving health outcomes through personalized nutritional care. As a Registered Dietitian, you will provide expert guidance on nutrition support, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and develop tailored care plans to meet diverse patient needs.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status and identify dietary needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans that align with medical diagnoses and treatment goals.
- Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to patients with chronic diseases, geriatrics, weight management, and specific dietary requirements.
- Manage nutrition support interventions such as tube feeding and parenteral nutrition in collaboration with medical teams.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document assessments, care plans, and progress notes accurately.
- Apply motivational interviewing techniques to encourage behavioral change and enhance patient adherence to nutritional recommendations.
- Supervise dietetic interns or junior staff members while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in clinical nutrition within hospital or long-term care environments.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing tube feeding, nutritional analysis, and developing care plans for complex cases.
- Experience working with individuals who have specific dietary needs related to chronic illnesses or geriatrics.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Supervising experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with acute care practices, weight loss programs, and dietary department operations is advantageous.
