Qualifications

• RDN credential from an accredited program.
• Experience in clinical nutrition including MNT and chronic disease management.
• Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion and metabolism.
• Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatrics or individuals requiring specialized dietary interventions.
• Demonstrated skills in motivational interviewing, client communication, and personalized nutrition counseling.
• Supervising experience in a healthcare or dietary department setting preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and data management.
• Knowledge of dietary department operations within acute or long-term care environments.
• Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and develop effective care plans tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient nutritional assessments to evaluate status, dietary needs and health risks.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans including MNT, tube feeding, and nutrition support strategies.
• Provide expert nutrition counseling and health coaching for weight management and chronic disease control.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
• Manage and document assessments, care plans, progress notes, and nutrition analysis in EHRs.
• Supervise dietetic interns or junior staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Utilize diagnostic evaluation techniques to monitor progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Educate patients on dietary modifications for geriatrics, long-term care, acute care, or special dietary needs.
