Job summary

Southcoast Health is hiring a Registered Dietitian-Inpatient for per diem day shifts at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

You will work under the Team Leader Inpatient Nutrition to screen, assess, and guide nutritional care for patients on various units. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred for new hires post-2024), ACEND- accredited supervised practice, and eligibility for order writing within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree from an accredited undergraduate college.
• For Dietitians hired on or after January 1, 2024, completion of a Master's degree.
• Completion of a supervised practice program accredited by ACEND.
• Must obtain order writing privileges within 6 months of hire.
• One (1) year of experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for nutritional risks and assess their nutritional status.
• Provide teaching to patients and families about nutrition.
• Direct nutritional care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Perform diversified duties in inpatient nutrition under the Team Leader Inpatient Nutrition or designee.

Hours: Per Diem
Shift: Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: St. Luke’s Hospital – New Bedford, MA

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Team Leader Inpatient Nutrition or designee. Perform diversified duties as a member of the interdisciplinary team involving directing nutritional care for patients on various assigned nursing units. Screen patients for nutritional risks, assess patient nutritional status, providing teaching to patients and families, etc.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor Degree from an accredited undergraduate college.
• For Dietitians hired on or after January 1, 2024, completion of a Master's degree.
• Completion of a supervised practice program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
• Must obtain order writing privileges within 6 months of hire One (1) year of experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.

Pay Range

USD $32.64 - USD $44.11 /Hr.
