Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Dietitian to lead nutritional care for patients on various nursing units. You will screen for nutritional risks, assess status, and provide education to patients and families within an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a BS in Nutrition and RD registration, with order-writing privileges to be obtained within six months and at least one year of experience preferred. Vaccination requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from an accredited program with supervised experience.
• Registration by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics is required.
• Must obtain order-writing privileges within 6 months of hire; 1 year of experience preferred.
• Registration by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics is required.

Responsibilities

Position Description

Under direction of the Team Leader Inpatient Nutrition or designee. Perform diversified duties as a member of the interdisciplinary team involving directing nutritional care for patients on various assigned nursing units. Screen patients for nutritional risks, assess patient nutritional status, providing teaching to patients and families, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition with an accredited program of supervised experience is required.
• Registration by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetic.
• Must obtain order writing privileges within 6 months of hire One (1) year of experience is preferred.
• Registration by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics is required.
• Proof of application for state licensure from the Division of Professional Licensure is required prior to hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
