Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian for a full-time day-shift role in Alexandria, VA. The RD will provide clinical nutrition services, assess patient needs, and coordinate with physicians and the care team to implement nutrition plans.

The position emphasizes education for patients and staff, integration of current research into practice, and participation in program development. Inova is known for safety, quality and employee support.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree minimum if licensed before 1/1/2024; Master's degree may be required for RD after 1/1/2024.
• RD certification within 3 months of hire; BLS required.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Clinical Nutrition is looking for a dedicated Registered Dietitian to join the Team. This full-time role will be day-shift working various days located in Alexandria, VA.

The Registered Dietitian provides safe and therapeutic nutritional care in a comprehensive and systematic manner. Provides clinical services and act as a resource to physicians, nurses and other professional healthcare team members, to provide patients with optimum nutritional care.

Registered Dietitian Responsibilities:

• Performs a comprehensive assessment by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data and synthesizing their interrelationships.


• Formulates an individualized nutrition plan of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.


• Anticipates nutritional intervention issues, monitors patient tolerance to nutrition therapy and responds when standards of nutrition care recommend changes.


• Coordinates the nutrition care plan with the physician and other healthcare providers while serving as a resource in the integration of the nutrition care plan into the comprehensive plan of care for the patient.


• Communicates with the healthcare team members, patients and families to maximize patient outcomes.


• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to increase practice knowledge and incorporate that knowledge into the nutrition plan of care.


• Provides education to physicians, residents, nurses and other healthcare providers to optimize nutrition therapy outcomes.


• Incorporates research findings into nutrition practice standards, may develop/revise patient education programs when applicable, and participates in the development and revision of patient education materials.


• Assesses the educational needs of patients/families and provides appropriate nutrition education/counseling.


• Provides education to physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize nutrition therapy interventions and outcomes. Incorporates research findings into nutrition practice standards, may develop/revise patient education programs when applicable, and participates in the development and revision of patient education materials.


• May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree minimum if licensed before 1/1/2024; Dietitians registered after 1/1/2024 must hold a Master's Degree


• Certification: Registered Dietitian (RD) within 3 months; Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA)
