The role emphasizes collaboration with food service teams, adherence to therapeutic diets, and strong communication to ensure high quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or CDM/CFPP certification required.
• Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
• 1–3 years dietary experience in long-term care.
• ServSafe or Food Handler certification required by state/county law.
• CDM/CFPP: current certification may be required by state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement nutrition plans tailored to residents.
• Monitor meal service and ensure dietary order compliance.
• Maintain records of dietary changes and nutrition documentation.
• Train staff on portioning and nutrition practices.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and therapeutic diet guidelines.
• Interact positively with residents and staff to deliver quality service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
