Job description

The Registered Dental Hygienist, working under close supervision, will collaborate with the Dentist(s) to meet the oral health needs of the patients. This is a grant-funded position at the Guilford Adult Health Dental Access Program, which provides dental care to uninsured individuals. The role involves reviewing patients' health histories, providing oral cancer screenings, and conducting exams to assess oral health.

Talent Pool: Allied Health

The responsibilities include:

1. Reviewing patients' health history and conducting head and neck inspections.
2. Taking x-rays and performing other procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
3. Documenting oral health evaluations and treatment in patient records.
4. Educating patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition.
5. Practicing infection control and sterilization procedures to meet safety standards.
6. Reviewing medical and dental records for completeness and accuracy.
7. Performing other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate's degree required.

Experience: At least 1 year of experience and experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Licensure/Certification: State-registered Dental Hygienist and BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
