Position: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA)

Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the RDA is to assist the dentist in providing excellent patient care and gaining patient commitment to treatment with urgency. Key duties include:

1. Utilizing x-ray time to promote the qualities of the dentist and educate patients with intra-oral pictures.
2. Using effective chair-side skills and supporting the dentist’s diagnosis after examinations.
3. Adhering to safety, infection control, and permitted duties in compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist in gaining patient commitment for treatment efficiently.
• Participate in delivering the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment; prepare patients and assist the dentist for treatment.
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following ADA guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and health regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with required training courses for certification/licensure as per state requirements.
• Certifications/licenses mandated by the state (e.g., radiography, coronal polish, ultrasonic scaling, sealant application).
• Associate degree or a one-year certificate from an accredited institution preferred.

Compensation: $24.50 - $34.25 per hour
