Bon Secours is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer at St. Francis Medical Center in Virginia to perform diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams using ultrasound equipment.

The role requires expertise in echocardiography modalities including TTE, TEE and stress testing, with on-call hours required. Qualified candidates will have an associates degree in cardiovascular technology, BLS certification, and RDCS/CCI credentials as a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science with a cardiovascular concentration.
• BLS certification required.
• Credentialed in echocardiography by RDCS or RCS preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart.
• Proficiently performs non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy, procedures and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Uses the hospital EMR to review patient information and document findings.
• On call hours required.

The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography and Cardiac Stress testing.

Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography and Cardiac Stress testing.

Essential Functions

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.

Education

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations:
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred)
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)

Range

• Minimum: $35.82
• Maximum: $55.52
