Bon Secours' Upstate Cardiology department in Greenville seeks a Cardiac Sonographer Registered to perform diagnostic echocardiography and stress testing, both non-invasive and invasive, using ultrasound equipment.

The role requires an associate degree in cardiovascular technology (preferred), BLS certification, and ARDMS or CCI credentials. On-call hours apply, EPIC EHR and PACS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in cardiovascular technology or related field preferred.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• Registered credential in echocardiography (RDCS or RCS) preferred/required.
• Minimum one year of cardiac sonography experience preferred.
• EPIC EHR experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform diagnostic echocardiography examinations including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress tests.
• Demonstrate ability to perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Maintain knowledge of cardiac anatomy, procedures and interpretation of results.
• Prepare and monitor patients before and during procedures.
• Utilize the electronic medical record to review patient information and document findings.
• On-call hours required.

Cardiac Sonographer Registered – Upstate Cardiology

Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing.

Essential Functions

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.

Education

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations:
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred)
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
• Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)
